Holiday Music from the Golden Valley Music Society
Candlelight Classics, December 5 and December 12
Our holiday tradition continues this year with two intimate concerts in the Club at the Merc. Quartetto Sorrento presents seasonal music of Corelli and Vaughan Williams, along with Yuletide favorites. The Quartetto will be joined by a special guest performer on the harp.
For these programs, the Merc is bathed in candlelight and audience members are invited to attend a complimentary champagne reception. It’s a warm and beautiful way to begin your holiday season! Seating for these two programs is limited, so order tickets in advance. The cost is $25 per person.
A Little Klezmer for the New Year, January 2
Back by popular demand! After two sold-out performances in the Merc, the 2nd Avenue Klezmer Ensemble moves to the Main Stage for a New Year’s celebration like no other. Clap, sing, laugh, cry, and dance in the aisles as the popular music of the shtetl and the Lower East Side comes to Temecula.
Led by vocalist Debby Davis and Bob Zelickman on clarinet, the 2nd Avenue Klezmer Ensemble’s concerts are exciting, energetic, sentimental, and tremendous fun. Whether you’re an aficionado of Jewish music or you’re new to the genre, you’ll love this show.

About the Golden Valley Music Society
The Golden Valley Music Society presents the California Chamber Orchestra – the region’s only professional orchestra – as well as the weekly Classics at the Merc chamber music series in the Club at the Merc at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater. In addition, the Society offers music appreciation outreach programs to local schools and community organizations. The Golden Valley Music Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Dana Mambourg Zimbric is the Society’s Artistic Director and the Conductor of the California Chamber Orchestra.
About the California Chamber Orchestra
The California Chamber Orchestra is the principal ensemble of the Golden Valley Music Society. Established in 2004, the orchestra presents a season of performances at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.
One of the hallmarks of the orchestra is the variety of music it presents. The professional musicians performing these concerts are drawn from throughout Southern California – outstanding local musicians, members of the San Diego Symphony and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, and top free-lance musicians
